Alpha's Claim Manlove Anthology featuring Eileen Griffin

This week has been a blast, and we’re nowhere near done with stories from the Alpha’s Claim Manlove Anthology!
Today’s guest is not only a fellow Evernight author,  but she’s also a fellow Texan who just so happens live just a hop, skip, and a jump down the road a piece from me, on the other side of Houston. (did that sound southern enough for ya'?) J
Luckily for us, Eileen’s brought along a tasty treat from her contribution to the antho, “Claiming Ayden.”
I won’t keep you waiting, so let’s dig in…

Thane, Alpha of his pack of shifter wolves, is running out of time. Drake, Alpha of a rival pack and Thane’s enemy, has stolen into Thane’s camp to capture three of his youngest members, including his intended mate Ayden. Although he is injured, Thane and his two most trusted sentries head out to reclaim their three pack mates before Drake moves them to his winter hunting grounds. As the miles and hours pass by, Thane wonders if waiting to focus on his position as an Alpha instead of taking Ayden and claiming him immediately is decision that will cost him his mate forever.
Drake needs numbers to increase the size of his pack and he does not care how he accomplishes that feat. When Thane challenges him for his Alpha status to reclaim Ayden and the other two young shifters, Drake readily accepts knowing he won’t be defeated. Will Drake succeed and not only increase the number of his pack but eliminate Thane as well? Or will Thane’s need for his mate and desire to have him at any cost be the tipping point that will help him overthrow Drake and claim Ayden once and for all?

Thane looked down at Ayden’s white blond hair and felt his chest tighten. He lifted his hand and settled it in the pup’s hair. He had to hold back a moan when he felt a tremor go through the pup’s body the moment his fingers brushed along Ayden’s scalp. Thane tightened his fingers in Ayden’s hair and pulled the younger man’s face to his. Crystal blue eyes stared back at him. Nowhere in them was there any fear or pain. Instead, Thane saw the same expression of surety and desire Ayden had worn when he’d wandered into their camp almost two and a half years ago.
“Thank you for the food, pup. But that’s not the sustenance I need tonight.”
The tremor Thane had felt turned into a shudder as Ayden placed the food and water on the ground. Then in a show of true submission he gently leaned his head into the grasp Thane had on his hair, leaving his neck exposed.
Thane’s cock filled with blood and hardened against his body. His eyes roamed over the battered body of his true mate to check for damage that would prevent him from taking the action he should have completed before they had begun their journey to the winter lands. Roane approached Thane’s side and slid the leather thong from his neck, pressing it into his leader’s free hand before backing away.

The shifters in our Alpha's Claim: Manlove Edition anthology have one thing in common—they won't take “no” for an answer. Whether they lead packs of their own, or whether they walk a solitary path, these alphas won't let anyone stop them from claiming their men.
Lose yourself in these ten sinfully delicious love stories. After all, who could deny an Alpha’s claim?

The Alpha gets what he wants when he wants it. His Beast will stop at nothing to claim his mate.
When Marcus rescues Kody, he’s sure he’s found his mate. But Kody isn’t another bear, he’s a lynx, and he’s reluctant to trust anyone. Especially an Alpha like Marcus.

Sounds reached his ears: low growls, hisses, and the odd, drawn-out yowl. As he closed the distance, the sounds grew louder. He burst through thick foliage and into a clearing. The sounds were made by a trio of Canada lynxes. Shifters, he sensed it. A fourth one was pressed so far into a small hole in a tree’s trunk that only its head and front paws were visible. As the other three took turns approaching, it lashed out with its paw.
Marcus was certain the trio of cats were purposely baiting it. While they seemed fairly fresh as they moved in one after the other, the lynx in the tree looked like it was tiring. Then he heard the soft mewls of distress it was making, and a red mist descended before his eyes.
He rose up on his hind legs and bellowed loudly. The three lynxes looked at him, and then scattered as he charged towards them. He briefly considered giving chase, but the scent he’d followed remained close by. He turned and looked at the remaining lynx still huddled in the bole of the tree. He shifted, resuming his human form, but the lynx didn’t move.
“My name is Marcus. I won’t hurt you. I promise.”
He sat down, hoping to make himself appear less threatening. For a moment or two, the lynx remained hunched, and then slowly crawled forward and out of the tree. Marcus sat immobile, as the lynx shifted. Then the breath caught in his throat.
A slender, pale skinned man stood before him. Thick honey-blond hair, badly matted and carelessly parted to the left, reached slim shoulders. Despite being both dirty and disheveled, there was no missing the beauty that lay beneath.
The young man looked around nervously. "They'll be back. They'll come after me because their fear of the Alpha's fury will be greater than their fear of you."

Alpha's Claim Manlove Anthology featuring Bite Harder by Avril Ashton

I hope you’ve been enjoying the debut of Evernight’s Alpha’s Claim Manlove Anthology!!
If you’re just tuning in, you’ve chosen a great day to check it out because Avril Aston is my guest today.
Now to be fair, I love all of the Evernight authors involved in the anthos this month, but I must warn you, I’m a little biased when it comes to Ms. A.
Avril’s not only a phenomenal writer, she’s my sister from another mister, my #1 go to lady when I’m stumped, my critique partner, and my very own personal ‘kick my ass into gear’ motivator when I think I’m at the end of my rope.
Her contribution to the antho, Bite Harder, is about as yummy as it gets, so kick back, grab a snack, and let’s get this party started!!!

Saddled with an uncle who’s always in trouble, wolf shifter Rory Huntley has to look out for both himself and his female cousin. Which is why he offers up himself as the prize when Alpha Kellan Moyer comes to collect on his uncle’s debt. Moyer wants his cousin, but Rory isn’t about to let that happen. Still, he’s shocked when Kellan accepts his offer.
As Alpha of his pack, Kellan Moyer needs to start thinking about a family. It’s the last thing he wants since he’s into men. He spots Rory in town and knows the young wolf is his mate. When Rory’s uncle steals from him, Kellan demands Rory and his cousin as payment. He sees it as a way to finally mark and claim his mate, but Rory makes another demand, offering himself if his cousin goes free. It’s a deal Kellan is all too willing to accept.

“Good news, Rory. I accept your offer.”
Rory’s gray eyes widened. Clearly he hadn’t expected Kellan to accept. The woman in his arms started crying.
Darien cursed under his breath.
“A-are you serious?” The young wolf’s gaze flicked from Kellan to Darien. “You’ll let Brie go, and take me instead?”
“Oh, I’ll be taking you, Rory. Trust me on that.” He grinned at the blush on Rory’s pale cheeks. “Darien.”
Darien stepped forward and took Brie by the shoulder, lifting her out of Rory’s arms. Rory made a grab for her.
“Where are you taking her?”
“She’s going with Darien. He’s the new head of the Huntley household.” Kellan waited a beat. “And he owns Brie now.”
“No.” Rory’s fists balled up as he glared at Kellan, his body shaking as his eyes shifted from human gray to golden wolf. “You said—”
“Said I’ll take you up on your offer, and I am.” Kellan snapped his fingers. “Get up.”
Rory scrambled to his feet, hatred burning a bright fire in his eyes. Kellan liked that, the fire. Rory, though slim in body and young, was a fighter. Kellan loved a good fight.
Darien held Brie against his chest, with her back to him. The young woman stood stiffly, despair in her eyes as she watched her cousin walk to Kellan. They loved each other, he saw that, and he understood. He loved his brother the same. When Rory stood in front of him, close enough for Kellan to smell his fear and feel the warmth of his skin, Kellan touched the pad of a finger to the exposed skin of Rory’s neck.
The young man jumped. His pulse raced, loud to Kellan’s advanced hearing.
“Time for me to claim you, Rory.” He scraped his fingernail against the vein in Rory’s neck. “Mark you, so everyone will know you belong to me.” He nodded to where Darien held Brie. “My brother will do the same to your cousin, and then we’ll leave.” He bent and whispered in Rory’s ear, “We’ll consummate our mating once we get to my pack.”
Rory trembled. Kellan heard his gulp, heard his heart beat stutter then speed up. Rory was afraid of him. Kellan didn’t mind it. A healthy fear was good. Kept people in their place.
He breathed against Rory’s neck. “Submit to me, Rory Huntley.”
Rory’s breath rattled in his chest. Kellan waited. Rory tilted his head, offering up the pale column of his neck. Kellan’s mouth watered. He licked Rory.
Rory growled then stepped back. Worry in his eyes. “Please.” His voice was soft, non-threatening. “Promise me he won’t hurt Brie.” His gaze flicked to Darien.
“He won’t.”
“In any way,” Rory said. “Mentally or physically.”
“She needs to be protected.”
Rory’s eyes flashed. “And handled with care.”
Kellan yanked the young wolf close and buried his canines in his neck. Rory cried out, claws digging into Kellan’s shoulder. Kellan growled at the taste of Rory’s blood, sweet and decadent, smooth like fucking thousand year old scotch. Rory melted against him, lithe body pressed tight, his erection rubbing Kellan’s. Kellan sucked on the bite, and Rory bucked.
The younger man came, his seed immediately scenting the air. Kellan almost lost his control as well. It was years of discipline that kept him from flooding his jeans like a fucking teenager.
Darien’s growl, and Brie’s subsequent aroused scream, filtered through his lust-fogged brain. He pulled his canines from Rory’s neck and stepped back. Rory stumbled. Kellan grabbed him, holding him steady. Rory looked up at him with cloudy gray eyes, confusion and arousal in his expression.
“Dar, handle your business.” Kellan grabbed Rory, dragging him behind him as he walked out the house. His wolves flanked him, walking next to him.
“Good luck. Hope you know what you’re doing, brother,” Darien said behind him.
Kellan snorted as he headed toward his SUV. He didn’t need luck. He needed the delicious Rory underneath him. Stat.

Alpha's Claim Manlove Anthology: Wakeing Up Wolf by Nikka Michaels

Today’s guest, Nikka Michaels, is no stranger to Tyler’s Naughty Notions, but her contribution to the Alpha’s Claim Manlove Anthology, is!!
I’m thrilled to have been part of the anthology with so many of my wonderful, fellow Evernight authors!!
So, let’s get to it with "Waking Up Wolf"  by Nikka Michaels!!

Strength. Power. Domination.

When a radioactive leak in the local water source turns the inhabitants of Adam Baker’s small town into shape shifting wolves, he manages to hold and survive alone--alone except for the wolves he hears in the distance. When he doesn’t immediately undergo “the change” into a wolf himself, he begins to believe he’s immune. After his dreams begin to include another wolf, he finds himself drawn to the howls outside his window and the pack’s alpha Grady Conway.

Adam watched him carefully. “You don’t even know me. Why would you invite me back with your family, your pack?”
Grady looked down. “What if I told you we needed you? That I needed you?”
Adam stared at him like he’d gone crazy.
“Me? Why would you need me?”
“A true alpha needs a mate.” Grady raised his head, meeting Adam’s eyes, and for a moment he couldn’t look away.
“And you think I’m your mate?”
“I don’t think. I know. You’re my mate, always have been.”
Adam backed away, and he felt himself shake and pain shoot through his body as he fell to his knees. Naked and sprawled in the dirt he stared up at Grady, who closed his eyes and shifted, leaving himself bare as well.
Adam swallowed hard as he stared up at Grady in shock. This close he could see every single inch of the tanned and toned body of the man who commanded a pack. Muscled and imposing, he stared down at Adam, his blue eyed gaze heated.
Without another word, Grady took a step closer, sliding his hand over the top of Adam’s head possessively. He slowly wrapped his hand around Adam’s long dark dreads and pulled his head back, exposing his neck. Adam’s eyes slammed shut as he waited for Grady to change and wolf teeth to tear out his throat. Instead, when Grady’s human teeth sank into his shoulder he shuddered and cried out.
Pleasure/pain surged through Adam’s body as he jerked awake, his cock throbbing as he felt hot cum stripe his belly. His legs shook as he panted for breath, his bed sheets and body soaked with sweat.
His dreams had never been that vivid before, and when he shifted his body his muscles screamed in protest and he flopped back with a moan.
When he yanked back the blankets he stared.
His feet were dirty, caked in mud along with his hands. On his neck, he could feel Grady’s teeth marks.
He’d been marked by the alpha.

Out In The Cold by Lucy Felthouse, from the Alpha's Claim Manlove Anthology

Welcome, my lovelies!
For those of you who have been around a while, you might recall a little group of authors I’ve been a part of for the last couple of years known as “The Wickedly Sexy Writers.”
My guest today, Lucy Felthouse, is one of those wicked and sexy writers, and she's been known to drop in from time to time on both of my blogs. We love it when she does!!
Today’s visit is extra special because she and I are both part of the hot and sexy Alpha’s Claim Manlove Anthology from Evernight.
Lucy's contribution, Out of the Cold, is everything we've come to expect from any story she's penned.
That being said, I promise not to make you wait a moment longer for a yummy morsel to nibble on, so let’s dig right in.

Writing a Delicious Alpha by Lucy Felthouse
When I saw the call for submissions for the Alpha’s Claim anthologies, I knew I wanted to give it a go. I saw it fairly last minute, so only had time to write for one of the anthologies, sadly. I thought about it for a while, about what I could write, and decided to go for the Manlove Edition. Soon, I had a delicious alpha in mind, an alpha that didn’t really know he was an alpha, had a chequered past and was still hiding from it.
Kane Wimborne was lots of fun to write. He’s gorgeous, dark, and has many secrets. But he’s not a bad guy, not really, just a victim of his circumstances. He was forced into the things he’s done in the past, and now lives a fairly normal, if isolated, life. I admit I was pretty mean to him, in a way. His existence is now stable, relaxed, and I went and threw some havoc in there for him, in the shape of a hunky young man almost on his doorstep.
Paul Barter also leads a pretty isolated life, he keeps himself to himself and moves around a lot. But when he ends up getting beaten up and takes refuge outside Kane’s property, things rapidly start to change for both men. There are so many elements at play here, and I had lots of fun tinkering around with them. I can’t say too much because I’ll give the game away, but let’s just say that neither Kane or Paul have entirely escaped their pasts...
Happy Reading!

Excerpt from Out in the Cold:
Completing his stretches, Kane Wimborne grabbed his keys and left the house, locking the door behind him and pocketing the keys. Jogging down the driveway of his large mansion, he paused at a keypad to punch in the code that would open the gates and allow him off the property.
He’d barely gotten through the gates when he saw something that made him stop dead. A human-shaped bundle was lying next to the wall on his left. Instinctively, his hand went to his pocket to check if his phone was there. Yes, he could phone for help if it was needed.
Cautiously, he approached the shape, with many possibilities running through his head. It could be a homeless person or a drunk who had simply been looking for a sheltered place to sleep. It could be someone who was injured. Or he could be about to step onto a crime scene. Conscious of this last point, he called out before getting any closer—he didn’t want to inadvertently mar any evidence, should that last be correct.
“Hey. You all right?” He felt stupid saying the words, because someone lying next to a wall first thing in the morning couldn’t be classified as all right, for whatever reason they were there.
As there was no response, he edged a little closer and was about to shout again when a weird sensation overtook him. A sensation that he hadn’t felt in a very long time—the one that told him another shifter was nearby.
He’d already been on edge, but now he hurriedly looked around him, confident that even in the dull morning light his superior vision would immediately highlight anything out of place. There was nothing. Except for the fellow shifter who was on the ground in front of him, obviously.
It was clear the wall-hugger was a shifter, given that all of Kane’s senses told him there was no one else around. There rarely was at 5:30 in the morning. Now Kane realized what a good thing this was—he didn’t want any witnesses, just in case any random shifting took place. It was entirely possible—it was a natural response to threats, especially if one was injured.
And if he or she wasn’t injured, why in the hell were they here?
No longer bothered about contaminating a crime scene—he wouldn’t be calling the authorities on another of his kind, whoever they were—Kane crouched down beside the prone figure and searched for its neck, then its pulse. He found both, which was a relief, and at the same time he’d ascertained that the “it” was in fact a man. The stubble on the neck and jaw gave it away. It was either that or a bearded lady had absconded from the local circus.
After calling out a couple more times, Kane decided that the softly-softly approach was clearly not going to work. Checking that the two of them were still alone—what he was about to do could easily stir the guy into changing—he grabbed the man’s shoulders and shook him, hard, then slapped his face for good measure.
It took a few seconds, but finally, the man came round. Groaning, his hand came up to his face, where Kane had hit him. Then his other hand moved to the other side. As the guy attempted to sit up, Kane reached out to help him, then gasped.
He should not have slapped his face. All he’d done was add additional pain to an already affected area. A badly abused area, in fact. The other shifter looked like he’d taken a serious beating, or fallen from the top of a very tall tree.
“Christ,” Kane said, still supporting the man’s back, so he didn’t flop back down onto the pavement. “What the hell happened to you?”

New Release: Alpha's Claim Anthology

It’s been a while since I’ve had a new release, but the reason isn’t because I haven’t been writing. Evernight’s Alpha’s Claim Anthology includes the first story in my upcoming shifter series, Call of the Wolf.
Keep checking back over the next couple of weeks for yummy tidbits of the other stories included in anthology, from authors such as Avril Ashton, Lucy Felthouse, Nikka Michaels, Eileen Bragdon and many more.
Here’s a little taste of “The Becoming”…

Every year, wolf packs along the Texas Gulf Coast gather for what is known as the becoming. A ceremony where young adult shifters transition into their wolf form for the first time and when each wolf’s spirits selects their destined mate.
As the son of an alpha, Josh Spinner has dreaded this day ever since he first realized he was gay, but planned to go through with the becoming, denying his true self forever.
Braden Scott, the only son of an exiled omega wolf, has lived in the shadows of shame since his father’s banishment before he was even born. The becoming was his only shot of ever being accepted into the fold.
Neither man expected their undeniable attraction and neither are prepared for the fallout that follows.
Natural selection separates the men from the boys, but destiny seals their fate.

Adult Excerpt:

“Are there always this many people here?”
Josh jumped at the unexpected voice behind him. He glanced over his shoulder at the tall, dark haired guy setting up his tent a few yards away. “Yeah, it gets crazy.”
The guy wiped his hand on his pants leg then extended it to Josh. “I’m Braden.”
Josh shook his hand. “Josh.” Electricity zapped his fingers, and he jerked his hand back, then clenched it tight at his side. What the hell was that?
A shaking smile broke across Braden’s lips. “This whole thing is amazing.”
Josh shrugged, doing his best not to show signs of his impending mental breakdown. Who is this guy? “Yeah, I guess.” His vision blurred, and his ears rang.
“My mom’s told me stories about this. I never thought it would actually happen though.”
Josh held his breath as Braden rubbed the back of his arm across his forehead and wiped away tiny little beads of sweat that bubbled up.
The instant the droplets were broken, Braden’s scent wafted toward Josh. His skin itched under the surface, and his heart raced. The fragrant smell of pine and rich, black dirt danced inside his nose. He knew that natural, earthy fragrance like he knew his own. Josh eyed the other man closely. “I, uh, I’ve never seen you around before.”
Braden nodded. “I live over in Suttersville.”
“Suttersville?” Nobody lived in Suttersville unless they were old or had no interest in socializing with other people. “That’s like Siberia compared to most towns.”
“Yeah, but it’s quiet. I like quiet.”
Josh nodded. What he wouldn’t give to live somewhere he didn’t have to pretend, somewhere he could be alone with his thoughts and not have to prove himself daily. Not have to constantly live up to his father’s impossible expectations. “I’m a big fan of peace and quiet myself.”
Braden’s lips thinned as a playful grin spread wide, and Josh’s cock twitched with excitement. Braden’s brown eyes glimmered, and his already handsome features became even more pronounced.
Josh tried not to stare as Braden continued to set up his tent. Each move he made drew longer gazes until Josh found himself leaning against a tall pine tree watching every move the other man made.
His torso appeared solid and firm, and thick back muscles showed through the thin layer of fabric of his T-shirt every time he bent and lifted another section of the tent. Like a shiny, sleek Maserati, every line along the man’s impeccable frame begged to be touched, and Josh was tempted to do just that.
The final straw came when Braden lifted the hem of his shirt and wiped more sweat from his brow. Without thinking, the instant Josh caught a glimpse of the glistening sheen of stacked stomach muscles, he reached down and squeezed his dick, savoring the feel of pre-cum rushing to the surface.
Josh sucked in a gasp when Braden glanced up and caught his lustful stare.
